From the disc I installed it on a laptop running Windows 10 that was installed after a major error on the system that needed a full re-set to the factory installation - all of self-installed programmes were lost and therefore had to be reinstated from discs.
Photoshop installed but would not allow the various functions to operate including the 'save' function - kept throwing up a message stating that there was insufficient memory and that clearly was not true. I then decided to install Photoshop on a desktop that was running an upgrade Windows 10 from Windows 8 but for this installation I used the download opportunity mentioned with the package.
That version installed OK and functions well. This upgrade for Windows 10 retained Windows Photo Viewer surprisingly because this did not happen with the laptop. I had previously been running Photoshop 2 on this laptop for many years without any difficulty but after the re-installation of Windows 10 I could not install my Photoshop version 2 again- not surprisingly I guess?
Window Photo Viewer is not available on the laptop as one would expect according to published information! Photoshop Elements still does not function on the laptop -it opens but I cannot use the range of functions. The download version saved the day! Have used Photoshop Elements for about 12 years, excellent photo editor. However recent Windows update killed it stone dead. Only solution was to update so decided to go for the latest rather than a 2nd hand old version e-bay!
Works fine and has also solved a couple of technical problems I had with my 'out of support' version. Loss of 'import from scanner' is annoying but can get round it.
